Pr. Nalliah Aaron was born in a small village named Sayarpuram in Tuticorin District of Tamil Nadu. He accepted Jesus Christ as his saviour at the age of 16 and got baptised. At the very young age of 18, he was called by the Lord to do His Ministry. So, he initially joined the renowned and largest Pentecostal denomination, CPM Church and had ministered in various Faith Homes at Tirunelveli, Madurai, Kodaikanal and Chennai (Pattabiram). Then, in 1961, he was transferred to look after the Vellore Faith Home. Later, after serving at Vellore, he separated himself from that denomination and founded “Visuvaasa Jebaveedu” in 1965. The Church had 15 believers during the initial stage.
The days rolled-on. Many people started coming to this little church and they started believing Jesus Christ and accepted Him as their saviour. Many special prayers and fasting prayers happened and believers too started praying for the growth of the Church. And, in 1970, after Pr. Nalliah Aaron fasted for 40 days, he had a vision and so renamed Visuvaasa Jebaveedu to Zion Pentecostal Church.
He had compassion on those who were in the margins of the society – the broken-hearted, the hapless, and the despairing. He preached the Gospel to them till his last breath. He was a faithful servant of God. The passion he had in his voice while preaching the crucified Christ enthralled people. He kept himself busy always by doing his Master’s job.
He first built a small church behind Vellore new bus stand, near the lands of river Palar border and started his ministry. Thereafter, he built another new Church near the old bridge of river Palar where the Headquarter of Zion Pentecostal Church is located now. And, this is where the place the visionary Rev. Emmanuel Paul’s Vellore’s first biggest church was built and dedicated in the year 2004.
As Psalm 2:8 says, “Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession”, it has become true in his life.During his days, he always used to share about his 2 wishes to the Church.
A Divine Gathering by the River Palar Fulfilling a Vision of Faith and Unity
The Lord heard his prayers and answered him. And, the first convention held in River Palar on May, 1993. But, couldn’t make the second wish as his ministering in this world has come to an end, he was called to be with the Lord and left the world on 9th July, 1993.

His death has left a great void in Christendom. His life has inspired countless number of people in the district of Vellore, India. He was a shepherd who was able to draw people towards Christ with his powerful messages. Many have had touched by his sermons and doing ministries all over the world. He practically lived out the command in James 1:22, “Be doers of the Word and not hearers only”, untouched by the accolades and honours he received from others.
