Sis. Mary Paul, the pillar of Zion Pentecostal Church, a woman whose life is marked by profound faith, courage, and unwavering devotion to God’s work. Her journey in the Lord has been one of overcoming trials, steadfast service, and an unshakable belief in God’s power to deliver and protect His children.
Sis. Mary Paul was born into a family that was not familiar with God’s grace and love. She became deeply involved in the work of the ministry from an early age as soon as she was touched by Jesus Christ. The journey of Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Paul’s faith began with her mother, who played a vital role in shaping her son’s spiritual life.
Sis. Mary, though initially a person of great fear, experienced a profound transformation after coming to Christ. She was deeply involved in the central government, working for the Indian Railways, but had a constant struggle with fear, especially concerning the day-to-day responsibilities of her work. This fear was eventually overcome when she committed her life to Jesus Christ, becoming an epitome of courage and faith.
Sis. Mary and Rev. Emmanuel Paul ministry began in the early days when they faced significant opposition. Many people came against them, speaking ill of their efforts in spreading the Gospel. In these challenging times, Sis. Mary stood firm in her faith, repeatedly praising God with the words, “Lord, you are worthy of praise.”
During one particularly difficult moment, a large crowd gathered in opposition. Despite the fearsome nature of the crowd, Sis. Mary found refuge in the Lord’s protection. Her mother, in her room, would continue to pray and praise, “Lord, you are worthy of praise,” trusting that God’s power would overcome any opposition. In a short time, the entire hostile crowd was scattered, unable to withstand the overwhelming presence of God that filled the place.
Sis. Mary, initially filled with anxiety and fear, went through a remarkable transformation after accepting Christ into her life. Once fearful, especially when dealing with public tasks like handling trains and schedules as part of her job with the Railways, she learned to trust in God’s guidance completely. She began to boldly face all challenges with courage, knowing that God was her refuge and strength.
Though she faced numerous hardships in her life, including financial difficulties and personal losses, Rev. Emmanuel Paul’s mother stood unwavering in her faith. Her resolve to serve God in all circumstances became a source of inspiration for those around her. Even when people mocked and criticized her, she kept her focus on the Lord, trusting in His faithfulness.
Through the years, Sis. Mary’s family faced many adversities, including the untimely death of her husband when her son, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Paul was only six years old. Yet, her mother, with her newfound faith, dedicated herself to raising her son with Christian principles. Sis. Mary learned from an early age the importance of prayer, worship, and total reliance on God, and these values stayed with her throughout her life.
Sis. Mary Paul, despite the hardships they faced, continued to serve in the church and God’s ministry with a passionate heart. She often faced ridicule and criticism for her unwavering faith, but she always responded with prayer and praise, trusting in God’s promises. Even when others tried to undermine her work, she stood firm, knowing that the reward for her faithfulness would come from God.
Growing up under the guidance of Ps. Nallaiah Aaron, Sis. Mary was nurtured in a spiritual environment. She witnessed the power of prayer and worship firsthand. Her faithfulness, even in the face of ridicule, taught her the importance of standing strong in the Lord and never compromising on God’s truth.
As she matured, Sis. Mary herself became deeply involved in the ministry of Zion Pentecostal Church, using her own life as an example of God’s faithfulness. She devoted herself to sharing the Gospel and encouraging others to trust in God’s plans, no matter how difficult the circumstances may seem.
After Sis. Mary Paul passed away, Rev. Emmanuel Paul had a profound spiritual experience. He had a vision in which her mother appeared to her, glowing with light and wearing a golden crown. In this vision, the mother was in a place of great honor and happiness, a clear sign that God had rewarded her for the sacrifices she made in His name.
This vision was a source of comfort for Rev. Emmanuel Paul, confirming that her mother’s faithfulness had been honored by the Lord. It reminded her of the eternal reward that awaits those who serve God faithfully, no matter the challenges they may face in this life.
Sis. Mary Paul continues to inspire believers to live lives of courage and unwavering faith in God. Her transformation from fear to faith and her constant courage in the face of opposition remain a testament to the power of God’s grace.
Sis. Mary has become a beacon of strength in her church and community. She emphasizes the importance of standing firm in the face of persecution and opposition, knowing that God’s power will always overcome any difficulty. She encourages all believers to continue their work in the Lord with joy, courage, and unwavering faith.
